Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Onsite Project Technician to support IT infrastructure projects. This role involves physical installation of equipment, desktop replacements, and general "smart hands" tasks, providing essential technical assistance at client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, including servers, switches, desktops, and peripheral devices.
- Perform desktop replacements and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
- Conduct physical cabling, rack/stack of equipment, and related tasks.
- Serve as on-the-ground support for remote technical teams, performing hands-on assistance as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including asset tagging and inventory updates.
- Provide basic user support and training as needed during system transitions.
- Follow established safety and procedural guidelines during all installations and repairs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
- Proven experience in IT hardware installation and support.
- Familiarity with common IT infrastructure components, including network devices and desktop systems.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cabling standards and basic network troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in a "smart hands" role supporting remote teams.
- Basic understanding of operating systems and software configuration.
